Merry Christmas 2020

Dear Friends and Family,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We send our love and Friendship you this holiday season. I am sure like e many of you 2020 has brought its challenges amid a worldwide pandemic. For the Rigby family, it has been a year filled with growth, adventure, and love.

Travis continues to run our businesses with finesse and skill. Most days are filled with long hours focused on finite details, communication with store managers, and financial wizardry. In the little spare time he has, he takes to the hills in hunting expeditions with family members and long hikes on Pine Valley Mountain. He enjoys his new church calling as mission prep instructor, morning runs with Emma, and mixing up “yummilicious” cuisine in the kitchen.

Amyanne has dusted off 20 plus years of cobwebs and is back in the classroom teaching English and advising student government full time at Canyon View High School. She misses writing full time, but she loves her students and her colleagues. Her favorite time of day is “slogging” in the nearby hills with Kobe.

Seleck married Leydi Pena Chavez from Lima, Peru in January in the Cedar City Temple. Their story is one of miracles and of God’s watchful care. He is currently a Junior at SUU majoring in philosophy and accounting with a minor in Spanish. He hopes to attend Law School. He works at our Cedar City Papa John’s as a store manager and is director of advertising.

Leydi flips pizzas at Papa John’s with Seleck and works hard in her English classes preparing for the TOEFL exam which will enable her to pursue her education at the SUU. She has taken her new life in stride an enjoys the many adventures life has thrown at her. We are hopeful she will soon have her travel permit so she can return to Peru to visit her family and meet her new baby brother Maverick.

Stockton is serving a mission for he Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Birmingham, Alabama Mission. He is currently serving in Huntsville, Alabama. Last week, he was blessed with a “White Christmas” as he helped prepare a father receive the Aaronic Priesthood and witness him baptize his son. Stockton then confirmed the young man. His growth this year has been extraordinary as he sought to focus on our Heavenly Father.

Madsen graduated from CVHS in May in “COVID” fashion. Stripped of his senior year of baseball, Madsen has rallied to overcome many obstacles. He just finished his first semester at SUU and is preparing to serve a mission for our church. Madsen enjoys strumming his guitar, snow sports, water sports, and sketching.

Emma is a sophomore at CVHS where she enjoys participating in student government, Honor Society, FCCLA, Hope Squad, cross country and track. She can hardly wait to turn 16 in January, so she can drive. Emma loves hunting and running with Travis, boating at Lake Powell and fussing over the family dog, Kobe.

At age 12, Maleck wears a size 9 ½ shoe. We can hardly keep him in clothes. He loves his time on the basketball court, but he isn’t sure about the “school thing.’ He would rather be in the hills with dad. Maleck misses Stockton terribly and their many off road adventures, but says the rest of us will have to do.

We send our wishes for the very best to each of you-may 2021 be filled with all good things and plenty of toilet paper,

We rejoice in the love of our Savior and pray he will be with you in the coming new year.

XOXO, The Rigby Family
