Tushar Lake Girls' Camp

There is nothing like taking girls into the woods. If you have never witnessed a Girls' Camp put on by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints you are missing out. There is no make up, no showers, no pretenses. But there is laughter, singing, crafts, high doses of the spirit, learning, growth, and don't forget the s'mores and cobbler

This year camp was on the stake level at Tushar Lake on Beaver Mountain. It was the perfect spot. The lake fit with canoes was a big hit. The girls learned first aid basics along with survival skills. They enjoyed a climbing wall, painting projects, a service opportunity, hiking, and an obstacle course unlike any other.

The theme of the camp was "Kindness Around the World." Our ward was Japan. Each activity was designed for girls to mingle with other young women of the stake and develop new friendships!

President and Sister Romeril delighted the girls with their love story and the do's and don'ts of dating. Sister Heath shared her heart and testimony forever reminding the young women that they are "daughters of God and they are glorious."

A big shout out to our friends Jing and Carol for sharing their first camping experience with us. They truly have left their mark on the hearts and minds of the Ashdown Forest Ward!

Until next summer... remember girls- "RIse and Shout and Give God your Glory, Glory!"
